Consul General of the UK in Chongqing, Ms. Cecille El Beleidi attended the grand opening ceremony of Poppies Day Care Chengdu.

On 2 Jun 2018, Poppies Day Care officially opened in Chengdu High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The Consul General of the?UK in Chongqing, Ms. Cecille El Beleidi, and Donna May, the founder of Poppies, who came from Britain, attended the opening ceremony of the centre.

Poppies Day Care Chengdu is located near the Chengdu High-tech Industrial Development Zone No. 9 mansion. The curriculum system of the centre is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and integrates Chinese traditional and characteristic curriculum for in-depth localisation. Accompanied by our staff, the Consul General and her colleagues visited the classroom, children's theater, physical fitness rooms, emotional comfort room, children's kitchen and science classrooms, art classrooms, infirmary room and other functional spaces. She gave her highest compliments to the centre’s facilities, the use of modern technology, and the well designed environmental protection, such as real time mobile monitoring system and cork flooring, etc. 

Subsequently, the Consul General delivered a speech for the opening ceremony and cut the ribbons with the principal of the centre. The Consul General said, “We are delighted to see the strategic cooperation between Poppies Dare Care from the UK and Kento Education from China. Poppies is an excellent Early Year provider in the UK and was rated ‘outstanding’ in all four areas of its education delivery by Ofsted. Through this partnership, many more children will benefit from Poppies education content and delivery, supported by the Early Year’s Foundation Stage framework.”
